[Goldman Sachs Research Report Points Out Global AI Investment Scale is Underestimated, Expected to Reach $1.019 Trillion by 2026] According to Trend Research, Goldman Sachs stated in a research report on August 2 that the commonly used market estimate of $800 billion for AI investment underestimates the global scale by approximately $200 billion. Goldman Sachs estimates that global AI investment will reach approximately $1.019 trillion by 2026, with about $581 billion coming from the United States. The proportion of AI investment in U.S. GDP is expected to rise from 1.8% in 2026 to 2.5% in 2027, and to 2.8% by 2028. Short-term leading indicators show that growth remains resilient, but trade data from June and July indicate a moderate pullback in investment from extremely high levels. Approximately 8% of nominal investment growth in the first half of 2026 is attributed to price factors, as inflation is eroding part of the real growth.
