According to the Singapore Business Times, Three Arrows Capital has sued Evelyn Tao, the wife of founder Zhu Su, demanding the recovery of approximately $40 million from the sale of Dubai properties. The property was purchased for 110 million dirhams, funded by a $50 million cryptocurrency loan provided by Three Arrows Capital to Zhu. The transaction occurred three weeks before the fund entered liquidation in June 2022. During his imprisonment at Changi Prison in October 2023, Zhu transferred ownership of the property to Evelyn Tao, which the liquidator believed was intended to separate the property and sale proceeds from the creditors' claims. Evelyn Tao argued that she did not know the source of the funds and believed that the property was a gift. She also stated that the two parties had separated in 2022 and signed a formal separation agreement in January 2024.
